ISKANDER
Iskander Gener left Cuba in 2008 at age 24. His circuitous path to the United States via Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Brasil, and México over the next two years served as an introduction to mainland, Latin American cuisine and her various dining customs. At its core, Cuban food is a mixture of flavors derived from Cuba’s original inhabitants (Taínos and Guanahatabeyes or Siboneyes), along with Spanish, African, Chinese and French influence. Our own Cuban menu is built from the same multicultural dishes found in homes and restaurants on the island today, with new menu items added as we further explore the diversity of Cuba’s cuisine.

Conveniently located in the heart of South Austin at 6800 West Gate Blvd., Suite #112, Austin, TX 78745 in the Cannon West Shopping Center, Guantanamera is 1.5 miles east of MoPac and 2 miles south of Hwy 71/Ben White Blvd. Shopping center neighbors include Starbucks, Chase Bank, and UPS!
