Alejandro Vega's photoHello, my name is Alejandro Vega and I was born in Cuba. I come from a family of engineers and architects, so in staying with the family tradition, I received an Industrial Design degree in 2001, from the Higher Institute of Industrial Design in Havana City. However, after graduation I felt like something was missing. Quickly, I began to realize that I wanted to be a graphic designer. This led me to Grafos, an Ad agency in Havana, Cuba where I worked as a Graphic and Interior Designer for three years. Seeking new opportunities I moved to the US in 2004, and began working as an Art Director for Mercury Mambo, a Hispanic ad agency in Austin, TX. Some of the clients I worked for included Dr Pepper, 7UP, and US Cellular. I also work as a freelance designer, with clients like the Austin Police Department, TradeMark Media, Everything to Everybody, PSI Max, among others.

Continuing my pursuit of knowledge, I received an Associates Degree in Interface and Web Page Design from Austin Community College in 2007. In 2009 I started working as a Web Designer at BancVue Interactive, a company focused on designing innovative products and marketing solutions for small banks and credit unions accross the country. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and have experience working with Multicultural Marketing programs, specifically the Latino Market. I’m proficient with Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks) as well as Flash, Dreamweaver, 3DMAX and After Effects. I possess strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Action Script 2, and some knowledge of Javascript. I am able to work with both Mac and PC platforms.
